Made it to Brussels, am super exhausted and fell head-first down escalators in the gare du midi. Apparently the synapses didn't connect today. For future reference: if your really really really heavy suitcase starts to fall on the escalator just let it go, don't try to hold onto it. Bad things will happen.
On the bright side! COFFEE AND COOKIES. Oh, and Nina at 5:30.

ReplyDeleteWhenever I'm going up a very long escalator, I can't help but picture myself tumbling down and hitting every sharp edge. Then I start thinking about how visualising things is supposed to make them happen, and try to focus on fairies and ponies or whatever. BUT I am please to hear that one can survive such a tumble!
ReplyDeletebahah, the exchange between the German guy who stopped me from continuing to fall and myself went something like this after the fact.
ReplyDeleteGerman guy: "you must be tired from your flight"
me: "well...I've never fallen down an escalator before"
German guy: *in a very serious manner* "that could have been very bad"
If I think back on it, I recall that it happened in slow motion.
